Friary Boys & Dundalk Gaels GAA DAY 2017
On Wednesday, June 14th, all the boys travelled over to the Gaels' pitch and took part in a GAA Day. Thanks to Dundalk Gaels GFC, Louth Co. Board and Leinster Council GAA for organising the activities. 2nd class went to the all-weather pitch and worked on basic handling and movement skills, while 3rd & 4th were practising their football skills and played a game to finish off. The boys received information about taking part in GAA games, joining clubs and also about summer camps in the Gaels.
In the afternoon, 4th, 5th & 6th classes took part in similar activities and enjoyed some very competitive games and skills sessions. Everyone had great fun and also learned some new skills.
AN TAISCE SPRING CLEAN 2016
Wednesday lasy week, April 20th, saw the An Taisce Spring Clean take place in the Friary Boys. Green Schools Committee members and volunteers from all classes with some of the staff, spent the afternoon cleaning up the school grounds and the surrounding areas. Thanks to the work of the Green Schools Committee and all the boys in the school, there was little rubbish to be collected within the school grounds. We worked along the entrance to the school, weeding and cleaning and between the school and the Friary football pitches. All the hard-working volunteers were rewarded with a cooling ice cream by Mr. Stanley, which was well-earned. Many thanks to Ms. Ronan and Mrs. Hughes for their tremendous work guiding the Green Schools Committee's work.Photos taken by 6th class pupils
6th class pupils attended the Seinn 2016 prayer service and celebration in the Redeemer Church as part of Catholic Schools Week 2016. Music accompaniment was provide by Mr. Wynne and his band of musicians, who really excelled themselves with their quality musicianship.

Parent-Teacher Meetings are taking place on Thursday next, February 11th after school. Please be patient as, like a doctor's visit, some appointments take longer than others. If you are not able to make it please arrange an alternative time to speak with the teacher. We are looking forward to a full attendance next week.
DUNDALK FC VISIT
Today, Wednesday December 16th, Dundalk FC Captain Stephen O' Donnell brought the FAI Cup and the League of Ireland Premier Division trophies to the Friary. He took questions from the boys on being a top level footballer and posed for photographs with each class group
BEAUTY AND THE BEASTOn Friday, November 20th a group from the West Midlands Theatre Company performed their version of Beauty and the Beast with some help from the boys of the Friary.
An enthusiastic audience provided plenty of volunteers to tell jokes, race around after the Beast or help Beauty. Already looking forward to next year's production if the Company comes to Dundalk.
