On Tuesday evening, our GAA 7s team took the trip to Stabannon Parnells GFC to compete in the 7s county final. Our first match in the blitz saw us play Lordship NS to which we came out on top. On the other pitch, St Mary’s of Drogheda had got the better of St Peter’s NS Dromiskin and they would be ourt next test. The match against St Mary’s proved an incredibly tight contest with both teams creating plenty of chnaces. Fortunately for us, our shot stopper was in magnificient form and kept them while taking off a few exceptional saves. There was a stiff breeze blowing down the field which the boys dealt with brilliwntly throughout. The final contest of the evening saw us take on St Peter’s Dromiskin and once again the boys played fantastic football to gain a slight lead going into half time. Despite St Peter’s grabbing a goal early in the second hald, our boys responded magnificently with goals of our own and some pinpoint long range scoring. In the end our boys closed out the game and the competition as County Champions.
