St Malachy’s Boys’ 5th and 6th class representatives took to the field against a strong CBS and Realt na Mara side on Wedmesday morning. With the field in immaculate condition, Mr Farrelly refereed 3 very eagerly contested matches in the qualifying round robin group fixtures. First up, St Malachy’s Boys gained the upper hand in a match with the CBS Dundalk in which some very impressive point taking was on show from both sides. CBS then went on to a second defeat in a very even contest with Realt na Mara in which goals were the difference for the Realt side. Finally, trailing at the break to Realt na Mara, St Malachy’s Boys came out the right side of what was a physical encounter. With strong and hard tackles going in across the board, both teams showed great sportsmanship.
St Malachy’s Boys prevail into the semi finals of the Corn Bhliain Mhic Ardail while CBS and Realt na Mara progress to the Corn Sheamus Ó Maoltuile.
