Scenes of pure joy filled Darver Centre of Excellence this evening as our U’13’s boys lifted the Corn Mhic Ardail Cup for the first time since 2014!! The Friary boys got off to the dream start, finding the net early in the game thanks to some fantastic interplay from the goalkeepers kick out, right until the sublime finish. The Friary continued in the same vein throughout the first half, building a handsome half-time lead.
The second half started with a more stern test but our boys stuck to the game plan and saw the game through to the final whistle.
A huge thanks to the families and friends for their support right throughout the competition, to Dundalk Gaels whom kitted us out in our new jerseys that were on display and to the players and staff for the way they conducted themselves throughout. Thanks also to Darver Centre of Excellence, Cumann na mBunscol for their running of the competition and last, but certianly not least – St Oliver’s Blackrock for a great match.
We look forward to enjoying the continued celebrations tomorrow and signing off the start of mid-term with the Corn Mhic Ardail back in the trophy cabinet.
